This is an original article reviewing outcomes after balloon coarctoplasty vs surgical coarctation repair.  This is a highly cited paper internationally, and the conclusion is that in early infancy, the recoarctation rates with balloon coarctoplasty are much higher; hence balloon angioplasty should only be preferred in sick patients with LV dysfunction as a temporary relief. https://doi.org/10.4103/apc.APC_165_17
